Automatic Less-Then-Lethal-Weapons.

    Markers of the USA Authors propose a new type of automatic Less-Then-Lethal-Weapons (LTLW). It is designed on the base of the semiautomatic paintball such as "TIPPMANN PRO-LITE" (Fig.1) and "TIPPMANN-98" (Fig.2), with elongated barrel 14”-18” "DYE" (Fig.3). The last provides firing from the hip. "TIPPMANN’S" has rate of fire 5-6 rds/sec, filled feeder 200 balls, mass with CO2 balloon 20 onz and loaded feeder about 2,5 kg. For LTLW with quick-firing may be used automatic markers "ANGEL STD" and "ANGEL LCD" having electronic trigger release and feeding from system of compressed air NITRO DUCK with cevlar balloon 1L at a pressure 3000-4500 psi (about 300A). All these markers have pressure control device, which allows increasing of a flying velocity of the ball from 90 to 120 m/sec.
    Besides that it is designed of the construction of the ball bullets for automatic LTLW. First type is the gelatin cased bullet with non-lethal agent such as irritant (lachrymator) gas CS, CR, CN, psychochemical one, fetid one H2S, non-wash off paint which use police of the USA for marking by paintball weapons of the infringes of traffic regulation.
    Filling of the bullets may be a glue quick drying out, one with fibred fillers and sticking foam. Clothes of the attackers stick together and it is impossible to tear it by moving hands, legs (Fig.4).
    Second type is the foam rubber (thermoplastic) cased the ball bullets bore 17mm, with eccentric lead slug-small shot which decrease almost two times point of impact error at the distance effective firing 30-40m and minimize of a probability of hard injuries (Fig.5). In the cavities of the rubber jacket may be non-lethal agents and non-wash off paint, which at impact of object released on clothes and body of the attackers by shock pressure. Procession of the bullet slug from different materials allows making of the light ammunition for impacting non-protected object and heavy one for stopping of the attackers in protective clothing. The rubber bullet has muzzle energy 48-50J which is enough for stopping of the attackers. In future it is not difficult to augment it to 100J. Upper limit of the muzzle energy, which induced shock and lethal outcome, is 270J (Patents GB 94/01377, RU 2134401).
    The components of an equipment police officer armed by automatic LTLW are a camouflage suit, protective helmet with communication means and mask with ventilation (Fig.6). In hands paintball marker, loaded by 200 non-lethal ball bullets. On a belt there are a side-arms with reserve magazines. On a back pouch whole mass about 8kg with six reserve tubes for 200 ball bullets of different types in each, reserve CO2 balloon, regular one connected by gas main with marker. Such officer for 12 min may inflict 1200 non-lethal impacts on the hands, legs and body of the infringes. Even if half of the shots non-get of the objects that is hardly probably as the flight of the ball bullets is seen by eyes as trajectory tracer bullets. 600 accurate hits discharges force out of 60 participants of disorders, each of them receipts of 10 hitting. In such way 10 officers for 10 min disperse 600 infringes.
    The next step of modernization this arms is designing automatic LTLW on scheme bull-pup with elongated barrel 75-80cm, which increases effective firing range to 50-60m (Fig.7). By that on shoulder of a shooter rest a receiver, a bolt and 20onz CO2 balloon under barrel, which jointing with weapon grip and trigger guard. On the barrel are a sight leaf as carrying handle and feeder to the right. Mass a such loaded marker no more 4kg. Tactical characteristics and specifications of the automatic LTLW may be improved by development turret quadruple markers with elongated barrels, mount on the roof of a police vehicle (Fig.8). It has azimuth and elevation guidance by electric drive and distance control panel in hands of operator in the car. The CO2 balloons are placed in a trunk of the car and connected by high-pressure hoses with the markers. All firing rate of the put mount 1200 rds/min, effective firing range 60m. Maximum possible rate of fire of the automatic LTLW 6000 rds/min may be provided by six-barrels revolving cluster, that is for one minute bring down on the oppositionists 60kg heavy ball bullets. Whole weight the loaded system of quick-firing LTLW more 100kg (Fig.9), its place on cars or jeeps.
    In that way the development of the automatic LTLW with using of the present markers has a good perspective thanks to its not high cost of production and time of working out, developed teaching and training base and also on account of need to passage to the quick-firing with non-lethal ammunitions.
